But my fiancé was going with us and he is a huge fan of soccer and when I told him I did not want to go, he got very upset. So I changed my mind. The match was between his two very favorite teams Manchester united and real Madrid. He was so excited for the game that his excitement took over me, and I was surprised to find out that I was actually enthusiastic for the game.
I knew a few players already because I have watched a few games on TV with my fiancé. Between the match, I met my boss who was there with his fiancé. He told me that he knew the coach personally and after the game he took us to meet the players. The goalkeeper gave my fiancé an autograph on his goalkeeper gloves. I was happy to see him happy.

It was because he came from a poor family and he had to struggle a lot to get a good education, so he insisted that we put our studies first. The only few games that he allowed us to play were supposed to be educational board games. My favorite one was Scrabble and even after 30 years I still love the game.
It really helped me in improving my vocabulary and helped me in learning a lot from my older siblings whose English was much better than mine. I am an architect now and although sometimes I used to think my father was too strict with us, I now understand why he acted like that. Now my daughter also likes to play Scrabble but she plays it on the computer with her friends and at just 9 years of age, her vocabulary is probably better than mine.
